welcome lowrider....

couple things first....

1. i'll assume you have a dyna. any mods? cams? bore? etc...
2. is the accelerator pump working properly? adjusted properly?
3. you say the carb is new. why did you replace the old one, and what size is this one?

let us know....

for got to ask how do you adjust the acclerator pump i did look at it and it is good

as i recall, there is a tab that pushes on the pump rod that can be bent. however, if you see a full duscharge- it should be fine.

have you tried a timing adjustment yet?

I bought a quik jet kit from Harley for my 97 Low Rider.It has a 45&48 slow jet, a 180&185 main jet, and a jet needle.The instructions said to use a 45&180 with modified air cleaner and exhaust.With a modified air cleaner,exhaust and a high performance cam go with a 48&185.use the new jetneedle in all cases.Iwent with the 45&180.I still had a little backfire when letting off the throttle at low rpm,so I went up to a 48 slow.A Harley service guy said screw the air /fuel all the way in and then back off 1 3/4 to 2 turns.
