What a great time :D :D . Estimates were over 600,000 bikers. We trailered out with several firefighters and their wives. there was sooo much to see and do. It seemed like every where you went it was more bikes than cages ;) . there were suggestions that the count was less this year. Part of the reason is that alll the towns in the area are smartining up and setting up like Sturgis. Closing the main street and opening it up to Bikers. Hill City that is 60 miles south west of Sturgis, where we stayed, closed off their main street and had a similar set up as Sturgis and the street was lined up with bikes. the Same for Dead wood, Sundance, Wall, Home of the famous Wall Drug, just outside of The Badlands, and of course Rapid City that reserved their convention center for Harley Davidsons displays and entertainment. Any way for us in the North East, Laconia is still one of, if not the oldest , but Sturgis is to me the biggest. Pics to follow, if I can figger out the downloading and uploading

Weather was very hot, but what a great time. :D

Lots of history with the wild west out there. Custer's last stand, Deadwood, famous for wild Bill Hickock, dead man's hand, aces and eights, where he was shot and killed. That's what I think was meant by dodging bullets ;) .
Hey Midievil we stayed at Quails Crossing, Just outside of Hill City. Was like a mini Sturgis in Town every night. B)

I was talkin 'bout the shootout down in Custer.Guess you didnt hear about it.There was another guy got stabbed to death on a bus. B)

Stoney, that happened same day we were at Custer Park, but at least I wasn't present at that particular time. 2 HA shot 3 outlaws. It was on the daily Rally update along with how many died, got injured, got arrested for DWI, misdemenor drugs or felony drugs. That update cracked me up

Firestopper, we were in Rapid City and there were about 5 bars down the road, but we also went to Sturgis and came home around midnight and continued on from there closer to home. B)

Matter of fact, your right Stoney  . With soo much going on out there, I did hear about that shooting and stabbing incident. Wasn't there at the time but was close by staying in Hill city thirteen miles to the north ;) .

Just back from Sturgis. Drove out and trailered the bike God love anyone that could ride out by bike from Mass..Had a great time, put on just shy of 1900 miles on the bike, just rode and rode. Did the downtown thing a few times, hit the Full Throttle "A FEW TIMES", went to a concert at the Chip
did Custer Park the Badlands .Spearfish Canyon, needles etc all the nice rides. Explored a lot and found some great back roads and some bars along the way ( big Mama's out by Nemo- best cost of food and drink)
Was in Keystone one night when they were expecting some trouble, a few hundred of the "Outlaws" coming through to head to their campsite escorted right out of town. Seemed to be a lot more "colors" this year.
Seemed to have black cloulds of rain following us this year. Got pelted with hail while in the Badlands, wicked rainstorm coming back from wyoming one day.
all in all a great time until going home. Broke down in the Wis-Dells and had to be towed off highway last Saturday night, couldn't touch my truck until Monday. The the shit hit the fan, although my tow vehicle was older it was in great condition and shape. I knew it was a fuel problem but they kept saying they were finding other seriour problems. To make a long story short I siad "fuck it" took off the plates, set my hiddden alarm switch and took the fobs, keyed the side, broke the cd player and had to rent a 17' u-haul cube van to get home. ( i was told they couldn't get my parts for several days. Sucky end to a great vacation.
After getting home and checking in here I saw the bad news about Bear and bbk. my problems just got to look like a blip on the screen.
