i need a tranny case for a 72 sportster so i can reassemble a friends bike. the old one is cracked. also wondering if it's possible to just get it welded. is there anything to look for and/or out for. thanx

don't have a case, but i know that dragon man machining repairs them....

i was told that the 72 has the shifter and break reversed so on opposite sides

good welders can usealy repair a case , kind of depends on where it cracked and weather it took out a chunk of metal or not if just a crack as long as it is not in a area that a bearing rides or something like that should be able to weld
