I threw in some liquid yeast for the first time. Well, the bottom line is that it did not take. Nothing . I am sure I followed the directions.'Sposed to be the best shite. Threw in some dry yeats the next day and it went like a bastard. Maybe the liquid y.was too old?

Grow your own local yeast

We grow it for making bread and our pizza. Nothing like local flavor groucho

Liquid is great but more tempermental. has to stay cold and not be old. I only buy mine from a local shop that i trust.

you probably needed to make a starter before hand as the yeast count in the liquid is often not nearly as high as the dry. liquid is far superior . or maybe you needed better airation

And make sure the yeast is the same temp and the wort before adding; if there is too great a temp diff, the yeast will go into shock and die.
