The question I have is this. DOes the Exhaust end caps change the sound of the bike. If so is it a huge noticible difference?

I am having the Stage 1 with SE pipes installed on my 05 Road King Classic and I am trying to decide what end caps are the best for both looks and sound. ANy advice would be a great help

With the exception of fishtail end caps, they all sound about the same. more a matter of the look you want, then sound.

Yup, fishtails and sharkfins aside, they all sound basically the same.

Thanks ya'all , I'm at the www.surdyke.com website ordering a crapload of goodies for the bike. The parts are still at 20% off so I'm saving quite a few dollars. Thanks again to all the fine members of HCG

Hey 90, you got that right! I was looking to change my wifes exhaust on her 883, and that article put me right on track for getting the proper size and length pipes. Without reading that article, I would have been buying pipes merely on looks and sound.

I guess I got lucky on the ones for my RK, as I believe I have the right length and size of pipe.

Definately a good read!

Here's a very informative article on the proper exhaust for a given engine configuration. Enjoy.

Sorry! I have never done this before.
I found this article of great importance, being that pipes are the first thing folks like to change.

I should have a disclaimer..."Do not read this if you purchase or subscribe to AIM"
