To whom it may concern.
The v-rod motor configuration is the future of the Harley line.
Like it or not.....it will be installed in every model forth coming after 08.
Man.. i love shovels, pans and evo's but technology has it's merits.
The v-rod motor is one hell of a sweet piece of engineering.
Looks like i'll have to invest as least $2000 in specialty tools just too seriously tear these things apart.Kind of complicated internal workings.
No problem though...i love buying tools.
Yesterday just got the HD Enthusiast mag and it had an article (advertisement) about making the Streetrod touring worthy.
Had part # for touring seat, backrest, saddlebags, rack, windshield ect.
Fuck it, ordered all that shit from chicago hd today.
I like this mutant harley and it will kick some serious butt.If it was 150# lighter it could be a contender in the sport bike class.
My bike is tuned, dynoed and runs like a banshee. 124" will take me off the line but i'll shut'em down midway.Saving my pennies for nitrous.
Want turbo but its not really streetable unless your into wearing a firesuit to deal with the heat that would be frying your right leg and chest.
Apologise for the rant but...fact is the v-rod ,while not traditional is one hell of a good bike.Might take some time...but the damn things will grow on y'a.
Felt wierd buying one......but i have no regrets what so ever. Does too many things,so very right.
Yeeee haaaw! Redneck cowboy biker on a watercooled scoot and beating the hell outt'a it and loving every wheelie pulling minute of it. 3800 miles and two tires later. B)

I'm new to the site, but I really like what I see. Caught this thread doing a search trying to figure out how the heck to get the corrosion off my alluminum rims.
Anyway, I'm the proud owner of a 2003 Anniversary edition Vrod. She's a beaut and I gotta tell ya ... I LOVE IT!!! Picked her up pretty cheap too, and to top it all .. she just hit 4,000 miles.I have noticed that alot of HD shops have this FAVORITE quote .... "Sorry sir, we don't work on alot of those around here ... maybe you should try [insert random US city name here]. HA ... it's all good ... she runs great and only has a couple things I really need to work on to make her perfect. Starting with those dang rims and that eczema they picked up sitting in its previous owner's car port for so long.
