    Attention EFI owners

I ran into a snag on my RoadKing recently. The fuel line that comes off the tank fitting was made of cheap ass fucking plastic tubing that was wrapped with TAPE. Seems that H-D over estimated the strength of the cheap hose & tape combination and has since moved on to a rubber hose and clamp design. The fuel pump operates at 52 PSI.

Check your fuel line. If it has a part number band that says "62349-04A", you should monitor it for leaks at the fitting. If it's marked "62349-04B" or has a metal band clamp, you're fine.

The cost of the improved hose is $22.94 if you want to replace it BEFORE it fails, or it's covered by warranty if you wait until it leaks all over your exhaust. <_<

I also have a stain from the fuel puddling on the black inner primary that I could have replaced under warranty, but frankly, I just don't give a shit. It's not THAT bad that I need a new one.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a heads up.

A picture's worth a thousand words. If your fuel line looks like this, you're fine. If the end is wrapped in tape, be wary.

I ran down to the garage and looks exactly the same but the green part number tag says "62349-04A".

There is also a cheap-ass hose inside the fuel tank that chafes and fails.

One of the first symptoms of a leaking internal hose is a longer period before the EFI light goes out to indicate the system has reached pressure just after you turn on the ignition.
