stop....turn the computer off, quit dreaming of big power and how you will have such a fast bike, and it will be so cool (funny, I recently gave similar advise to my dad)....I know it is difficult, and we all fall into that trap, but it will help you understand something
go ride your bike. Put as many city miles on it as you can. Spin the tire. hot rod it a little....
come back and seriously consider just how many times and for just how long your bike was in peak hp range. I think it will surprise you to realize just how infrequently you are at that exact RPM number......Now figure out just how often you are pulling against a torque curve, for initial acceleration or shift recovery...
look for a cam that gives you the low end and midrange power you use. I know that big hp numbers are appealing, but a quicker bike is often the one with less top end, peak, hp, and a better torque curve. Do your research based on the power range you use, instead of getting big eyed over big numbers......You will never have the fastest bike on the street this way, but the power you do gain will be more satisfying, for the way you ride
