I thought there was a forum now for parts and accessory recommendations?
Anyway, while I was at the Myrtle Beach Bike Rally, I bought one of those Xena alarm brake locks. I got a relatively cheap one, the XR1. Not the strongest brake lock they make, but it is equipped with an alarm. It was an impulse buy. I'd seen them on the Internet before.
The thing is pretty slick. Pretty loud alarm when the bike moves. However, it can be manipulated by placing your hand over the alarm, but if you don't know it's there, it's loud.
It comes with a case that you can attach on your frame, two battery packs, and three keys. Don't loose the keys, because the company will not make new ones.
As everyone has said, the best security is layers, so this coupled with my HD alarm and ignition and fork locks, the bike is relatively safe.
I'm just dreading the first day I forget I have both one and pick the bike up off the kickstand. With the HD alarm and the brake lock going off, I may just go crazy.

Interesting lock, www.xenasecurity.com let us know what you think after using it.
Used one for awhile - still have it somewhere. Yea, the alarm is loud as all get out. I'm just lazy and most places I go, there's never a problem with bikes walking away, so I don't bother. If I go somewhere that it may be likely, I still put the Xena on there. The good thing about that loud ass alarm is that you're less likely to hop on, fire it up, pop the clutch and look like an idiot when ya try to take off with the disc lock still on there and dump the scoot!![]()

I use one everyday. Like TFB said, don't forget to take it off before you gun that throttle! They do make a string you can attach that goes from the lock to your handlebars so you won't forget it. Several times I have started to move the bike and felt the clunk of that lock hitting my forks. Never moved it hard enough to damage anything though.
