    Got the Zumo 550

I got the Zumo 550 yesterday, put it on the bike with the vehicle mount to test run it. Damnnnnnn, this thing is easy to use. Squirrel and I went riding, a part of the trip we put in was down a stretch of I-95, well when we got there 95 was a rolling parking lot, do I took off down frontage road instead, which ran parallel to 95 for the distance we needed. I just knew that it would screw the Zumo up, to my amazement, it reprogrammed itself in about 20 seconds, knew that I was on frontage road and re-drew the map. Soooo, on the way home, I then took another shortcut and damned if it didn't figure that one out too. It has a very bright screen, is easy to see, and so far does a very good job. I needed to stop at a money machine early on. Went into the Zumo's program, selected a bank, and presto it guided me there. That was nice, because I was in a town I did not know where anything was. I did put a protective cover on the screen before using it. That way the screen won't get scratched. I found the covers at a Best Buy for $5.00, cheap ins. They are easy to cut and put over the screen, I also use the same covers on my digital camera's screen.
I feel that this is a good unit, easy to use, never lost a signal, updates very quickly, the speedo part works well too. Found it on the net for $699.00, which is cheaper than the Nuvi 660. Zumo will fit in a shirt pocket, but you know it is there. B)

    Zumo pics...

    Cool,

Thanks for the info on the screen-saver. Great idea.

Here are a couple pics of the Zumo on my RK, using a TechMount.

Hey, if you need them, I got the POI files for all the HD's and Starbuck's in the US - I can send it to you.

What am I talking about...OF COURSE you need them!

(Looking for a good POI file for all the titttie bars in the US next....Can anybody help a brother out?)

I do too - just wish they would make it for the '08s and '09s.
