And now who here is planning on getting their license and being a new rider this year? The bike courses are easy and not too expensive. In some states ABATE will reimburse you a % of the fee if youre a member. And here in Oregon they bring loaner bikes so you dont have to worry about getting your own. So whats stopping you??
Rules? We don't need no stinking Rules!
Okay so I will go first here - I do have my M license and have had since I was 16. <and no you all do not have the opportunity to ask me how long ago that was!!> I still have my GM <which in Ontario is your General - drive anything that carries less than 8 ppl i believe so in other words you could not just drive a bus of people! and Motorcycle license. I took the course prior to getting my license and they still run the course here in town today at the local College. They also provide loaner bikes if you do not have your own. Fairly inexpensive, and it is good for lower cost insurance as well. Not to mention good your own safety and others!
My intention is to purchase a bike in 2007 however, since it has been a while since I have ridden on the streets <have taken a few fun times off roading on the dirt bikes!> I will be going back to the course to get my mind focused on the road safety aspect of riding once again before I am actually ready to ride. And feel comfortable in doing so.
Don't post much but I ride a 1992 FXR now
started on a 1978 FXS >i've been riding since 1989.
Only trip I'm planning so far is in June sometime to Maggie Valley. Tired of Myrtle Beach and Daytona
Need to see more of the country
Peace
The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settle for
I ride ~ mostly locally, though. I've had my motorcycle endorsement on my license for almost three years. I haven't taken any long distance rides, but hopefully that will change this year.jazda

Whenever I have to choose between twos, I always like to try the one I haven't tried before.

Started in October of 2004 and here I am.
I'm just an old Raggedy Ann living in a Barbie Doll world.
Okay I'll bite....
I do not have my own bike but I have taken the safety course and plan on taking it again this summer as a refresher and getting my license. Have several friends who have been letting me do a little riding on their bikes, out off the main roads of course. Here too they provide the bikes at the training session. I love riding whether it be on my own or being a backrest. It's just that I would love to be able to hop on my own scoot and take off and ride when the mood hits. I'm lucky that I do have a few friends that I ride to rallies with such as Daytona, Myrtle Beach, and this year we're riding the bikes to Sturgis.
You ask what's stopping me???? It's called being a single parent and providing for my kids first and foremost, and one going off to college this year, BUT I've been saving for a sporty, have one picked out, and plan on biting the bullet and purchasing it later on this year. Guess then I'll add my name to the list.....I will say that I think you can be a biker whether you ride your own or ride with friends.....course that's just my two cents worth and what the fuck do I know???!!! I'm lucky I've met some really nice people on here who continue to give me good advice on riding and purchasing the right bike. I'm counting on those same friends to help me with maintenance questions on my bike and hopefully wanting me to ride with them![]()
