Shorty, LMAO! You never gave up and would not accept that you were too short to ride and you have come a long way. Ladies, with the proper training, there are not many women who can't ride a motorcycle, if you can ride a bicycle then you can ride a motorcycle. Training and practice. Well I am healing from my carpal tunnel surgery and already have my eye on a Heritage. The Yamadawg last year was a test to see if I could ride without surgery. I knew my wrist would be the deciding factor, with that almost in my past I'm setting my sights towards the future and riding my own again. The freedom it gives you is indescribeable! It feels so much different to lean through the corners in the princess seat as it does in the drivers seat!
Since RN does the laundry, I guess I can ride when ever I please. My job is the lawn and it's dormant right now! When it is growing, it is done on Friday mornings! hehehehe
You may not like where I'm going but you sure know where I stand.

lol fire! Ya know, I felt for ya when that happened last year. Felt so bad. But Im very happen to hear that youre on the healing side of the surgery and soon to be riding again. Yes, those heritages are real beauties arent they. Im currently drooling over the heritage classic but I think Im going for an 03 model instead of 07.
Heal fast and good luck getting your ride.

Since that was given to me I hope to, in turn, give that to other women who join our site throughout the new year, and also to those here already that need that little extra 'you can do it!'.
Well, I am not riding right now because I needed a vehicle to transport my equipment. Which I have now. I haven't ridden in years because, well two girls, 3 dogs, 3 cats and a trailer of 3 horses just does not fit no matter the hitch on a bike.

However, in all seriousness, i miss it. Sometimes not <cold rainy crap weather, accidents I see on my many journeys etc> AND I know diddly squat...yes that is correct...diddly squat about bikes. I do however now know more about head porting and big bore kits. I know what the following look like:

    1. - Big bore "kit" Which includes cylinders and pistons
    2. - Harley heads Which bolt to the tops of the cylinders
    3. - Harley cylinder, with heads bolted to top
    4. - Complete harley "V-Twin" motor (two cylinder - in a "V" configuration)

    (thanks to a friend)

I get the fact that the "air cleaner" really does not affect porting to a great extent. And that porting refers to parts of the air intake tract Inside the heads. To "Port" them means to grind away some of the metal inside to make the ports bigger, effectively increasing airflow. Effectively maximizing power and efficiency. I also understand that if someone decides to do changes - ie: big bore - they most likely will also do head porting.

I also learned that even if you buy a customized bike, if you like the ride and it feels good for you, you do not have to worry about changing the way it was set up for someone else - unless of course you know more than me!! (which is very probable. B) )

See, I have learned something here! Thanks to those that care to help out those that have questions!

So now, the question is, what do I even begin to start looking at? I do wish to have something easy to handle, I do not need brand new, and I do not need a whole lot of kick butt power. Just need to start back at square one and enjoy once again.

I don't ride right now. I do ride with the hubby on the back of his roadking. MsBettyRides and I and my youngest daughter are planning on taking the riding course this summer together. MsBetty wants a trike and I am not sure yet what I want lol. There are a couple out there, tuff to decide lol. My daughter just wants one really really bad mom as she puts it.

My 19 year old daughter wants to take the class and get a bike. She's wanted to have a motorcycle since she was 15.
I think I may fix up my 64 Honda Trail 90 for my mom to ride around town now that she's sober. I told her if she takes the class, she can have it.
I'm not riding my new bike right now. Sidelined with a shoulder injury that has been made worse by modern medicine, physical therapy, and other crap. I'm not a happy camper about it. In fact, the next treatment my doctor prescribes will be tossed out the window of my truck along with a fist full of $20 bills. I know that would be cheaper than anything he's suggested so far.
I'm on the back of Dave's bikes until I feel strong enough to pull the bike off the kick stand again. We went for a ride today with our cameras and got some great pics at the coast.
Riding is fun from the bitch seat but it's just not the same.
