    KURYAKAN TC 1 CAMS

They claim a lot of HP and TRQ with the stock engine and their cams. Anyone have experience with this?

We use S&S and Andrews. Sorry, I have no experience with the Kury-Akyn cams at all.

    Re: KURYAKAN TC 1 CAMS

I just picked up a set of the tc2s used, the guy i bought them from said he dynoed over 100 hp and 105 lbs of tq with a 10.5 95 in.

I saw a thread on another site and some guys were baggin on them, saying they didnt make the #s that were claimed on Kuryakans site. but who knows

I googled the cams and found a page that was written by an engineer that dose R&D for Kuryakan and talked about the theory the Mike Roland was using to design the cams and It realy make sence to me. so I found a used set for 100$ to try out.

Id say give them a try!

KURY claims 80hp from an otherwise stock 88. I could live with that. Cheap quick hp if it works.

I think for the 341$ that i see them retail for you could get 80hp from many lessor priced gear drive cams. S&S .510s or Andrews 37s or 44s

they can be had for around 200$ without gears.

I have the S&S 510G cams and love them. I think S&S makes a damn good cam. I installed the 510G when my bike was still a 88ci, because I didn't intend on going 95ci.

Well shit changed and I went 95ci and bought the Screaming Eagle CNC ported heads to go with it, but I kept the 510G cams. I really like the low end torque it gives me and just the seat of the pants feel is great in my book, so I didn't feel the need to go with a higher lift cam.

I usually cruise around 80, which revs me up to about 3200 rpm. What I really want is some grunt at that point. I want to be able to get around the 18 wheeler without downshifting to do it. I wanna grab and go. How are the 510g's in the 3-4k range?

510's or Andrews 26's will both do a good job in those ranges.

My bike has 26's. Riding two-up and loaded heavy, top gear roll-on's are strong anywhere from 55 mph up.....Of course my 3:37 gearing doesn't hurt. With 3:15 gearing like the later bikes have, I'd guess you wouldn't get the pull until 60-65....That's still in your target area, though.
