Hello all. I have a 2005 Electraglide EFI that I installed the factory security system on last January. I tried starting the bike for the first time today after the security system install. The bike will fire right up but only runs for a second or so and then dies like there is no fuel. After 3 attempts the security light key starts flashing about once a second and continues till the key is turned off and then stays on steady for about a minute after the key is turned back on. During this time the starter will not operate. If you let the bike sit for a few minutes you can arm and disarm the security system with the key fob. I have checked all the fuses with a ohm meter and pulled the fuel filter off to check for fuel , everything seems ok. I called our local HD dealer (about 130 miles away) and he said to rematch the key fob with the security system, I did with no apparent results. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks, Jerry
The ignition module has to identify the new security system. It is better to have an HD tech hook up the scanylizer to aid in the ID. It should only take 10 minutes. If you want to DIY it takes a bit longer. Best to follow the instructions in the manual to the letter.

needs to go through the learn procedure in the service manual. This is not a major issue. I have a good thread about it in the spring summer of 05 I think. Its under a S/E ignition post. If you cant figure it out, I will dig up the post.

Thank you Softail! I found the thread you posted in May of '05. I followed it exactly like you said and the bike runs perfect. I took my first ride of the season today, met one other biker and two people on sleds. I don't know who is pushing the season harder. Thanks again, Jerry.
