Ok... as we discussed at Softail's party, this is our alternative ride w/e for those of us who either can't make, or prefer otherwise to skip the Sun 'n Surf Ride the w/e of July 27-29.
The details... my g/f Tricia (cdsgirl) and I are your party hosts at our place up in Marysville starting Saturday afternoon, the 28th. We'll feed you and make certain that you won't go thirsty!!![]()
Come as early as you can on Saturday afternoon... we'll be there. All you need to bring is yourselves... and if you're able to spend the night and have camping equipment, bring it... my backyard is your castle. For those w/o camping gear or who prefer to sleep indoors, we have a couple of spare bedrooms for you too.
The plan is to party Saturday and ride on Sunday... leaving our place at ~9:00 am Sunday... and heading up I-5 a short ways to WA-530... through Arlington... and continuing on east to Darrington... from there, north up to Rockport riding alongside the Sauk River, where we'll meet up with Route 20 and head east on Route 20 riding alongside the Skagit River most all the way up to Washington Pass (elev. ~5000') and then on eastward to Winthrop... where we'll stop for a lunch break, and hopefully meet up with Dyna and Ms. Dyna.![]()
After lunch, we'll basically retrace our footsteps back to my place.
If you've never done the No. Cascades Highway, you're in for a real treat. It's one helluva biking road.![]()
PM me for my address... and we hope to see as many of you as possible for the party on Saturday and/or the ride on Sunday.![]()

Hi Dave. You are right about the Cascades Hwy, its a one of a kind ride for sure.
Did you realize that there is a HOG event in Winthrop that weekend? Its their 5th annual Cinco de Tumbleweed. There will be alot of events, live music, tatt contest, etc, but $50 entry.....ouch. Even so, should be quite an active weekend there. Ill be expecting good pictures back from you.
BTW, youll be just missing Winthrops annual R&B Fest. Bumma.![]()
Ride safe!
Rules? We don't need no stinking Rules!
Unfortunately won't be able to make this year. Will be getting ready to leave for Sturgis on the 2nd of August.
Since we got a banner going for Bear last year on this ride, maybe one for Arthureld is in order for this year since he's on the mend. May as well make it a tradition!
Have a safe ride, hopefully the weather will cooperate and will be thinking of ya'll.
Roger got hurt? WTF?![]()
Never fight with a fool, others may not be able to tell the two of you apart.

My suggestion is that we meet at Steelhead Park, which is in Rockport... and is at the intersection of WA-530 and Route 20 right along the banks of the Skagit... best guess right now is that we'll be there roughly at 11:00... or a bit later. From Concrete, you'll only be ~15 minutes away... so meeting there would be perfect. We'll keep in touch by cell phone that AM.
Lookin' forward to it... and say a big "HI" to Barb for me.
Best regards, cd.![]()

I just looked at the map, looks like Rockport is just 7 miles from Concrete so that is a perfect place to meet. Let us know about what time you think you'll get there and will meet you. There is Sutter Creek Rest Area at milepost 100 that's as good a place as any.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
