Past or present? Just wondering if anyone wants to shed any light at all. Been running mine with a suicide clutch on my 04 sporty for about a month. It's been pretty fun, don't want to go back to a hand clutch if I can help it. Only tricky part is feathering the clutch when taking off. There's little room between pedal down disengaged to where the clutch starts to grab. I've done my share of stalling it out at intersections with cars behind, that's always fun. Slowly but surely getting better, shifting while moving is the easy part.
Anybody got anything to add?

Yeah, don't ride the Gardiner Expressway during rush-hour.

A heart stained in anger grows weak and grows bitter, you'll become your own prisoner as you watch yourself sit there wrapped up in a trap of your very own chain of sorrow.

Ha, right. A foot clutch really does change the way you approach red lights, intersections, stop signs, and traffic. You slow down sooner and try to coast in 1st as much as possible so you don't have to put your right foot down.Originally Posted by Kagan

I am thinking about putting one on my 08 road king. Is there any pros or cons to doing it.
Thanks,

It just takes a little getting used to. People do them for different reasons. I like them on old bikes

Had a tank shift on my '38 Knucklehead bobber. Turned out to be much easier than expected, though that combined with no front brake made emergency stops exciting. Only thing to remember when you first start: if stopped at light, stop habbit of putting both feet on ground (unless shifted into neutral first). hence the term "suicide clutch," folks would put down their clutch foot and launch into traffic.

I have one on the way,but the way our roads are I may not use it
If the bike were an antique that came with a suicide clutch and removing it diminished its integrity or value that's one thing. But, to retrofit a suicide clutch to a modern bike seems more about making a stylistic statement, and less about functionality.
Suicide clutches have a well deserved reputation. Good luck.
I run conventional clutch and shifter on my Panhead but I kept the mousetrap
