    Internal wiring

Well TFC outside but I did start a little bit to take up some time before the NFC and AFC games.
Amazing what a vacuum and a little string will do to setup pulling wires

Nitram - those aren't drag specialty bars are they?

I've got a set out in the garage now that I don't rightly know what to do with. They have a portion of wiring harness stuck right in the bend that I can't clear out.

But I remember starting out like this...

Let me know how it works out for you.

No they are Wild1 Chubby Drag bars made for a springer...centers are differnt than standard, i used to do wiring ( industrial) and we used a water based grease to make the wire slip past tight spots...it helps a shitload

    Re: Internal wiring

LOL! I was using lube too. But those Drag Specialty bars apparently had some strong burs in on the joints. Two of them. I finally got one wired up (after my second set of wiring harnesses too) put it on he bike and realized he handlebars were crooked. After all that crap...

Ugghhh... the thought of internally hidden wires runs a chill up my spine now.

After the quality issue I had, and having to eat two sets of handlebars and wiring harnesses, I bought the expensive handlebers from Harley. The damned thing is it too me only about 5 minutes, if that, to run the wires through.

The $125 handlebar swap I had planned to do, ran me about $1000, not including time. LOL! And not including all the beer I had to drink.

Hope by the time you read this those bars are sitting nice and pretty on the bike. Good luck.

Nitram did you use any rubber grommets for the wire holes in the bars? We used the rubber grommets out of a/c units to keep the wires from rubbing and added a piece of heat shrink for additional protection.

    Re: Internal wiring

well I got the harnesses and switches sitting on my desk in front of me...been thinking of staying with the black housings since everything else is chrome, even my grips have chrome spiraling through them in bands
Wild 1 radiuses the back of the holes pretty good and the harness has a plastic sheath so I think I am good.
I have seen other make bars with edges on the holes like razers, but not wild 1s

I wired the clutch side and mounted the controls and hand grip to see if I liked the black, I think I do.
The rest of my front end is chrome and I have a black fender and switch housings to break it up a little.
