It wouldn't be nearly as hard for me to carry Road Nazi than it would be to make him keep his mouth shut and let me drive! LOL

    Re: Passengers

Girls, excuse me for butting in, but I've ridden with a passenger almost as much as without since 1978 so I know a little bit about the subject. As for the weight, if you're riding a 700-lb. Big Twin the weight of a 200-lb man in back wouldn't make much difference, assuming you can handle the bike in the first place. Nobody's strong enough to muscle that much weight around -- we do it by finesse, timing, and balance, and if you can learn it alone you can (most likely) learn it with some dead weight on the fender. For the record, I've only ridden women and children much smaller than myself but I can't even tell they're back there. I don't change a thing about the way I ride unless it's my wife, in which case I don't go as deep in the curves. She's chicken.

I'm riding my son on the TOTD in my avatar.

Yeah, I was thinking about just riding around trips, and even to a few rallies. But my hubby doesn't ride! I have a 1200 Sporty and a VROD, and am outweighed by 60 pounds. Shorty you should try it to see what happens, in the garage with the doors closed to save his ego!

    Re: Passengers

    Like mentioned above.

It is all balance. I have had some huge loads on bikes over the years and as long as the passenger (load) stays in position and does not want to try and steer by shifting their weight I see no problem what so ever no matter who is driving. You seem like an experienced driver with the two bikes.

Just tell him to sit still and enjoy the ride

Personally I can't even drive in a car if I'm not driving, thats my personal hang-up though

hey bkrchick, welcome to HCG, hope you enjoy it whether anyone is behind you ar not. Tell hubby not to pull up his shirt & try flashing people as you pass them on the interstate. that is a sure way to lose your balance

that hasn't been my experience OBG. anything over 110 lbs on the back and I definitely notice it for stopping and at slow speeds. always instruct your passenger about how to ride passenger or you will end up in the ditch. ...don't ask lmfao

    Re: Passengers

I'm not proud. My wife out weighs me..... Um.... a lot. I can tell she is back there for sure, but the point about finesse is valid. If you know how to handle the bike well, the additional weight is not a problem. Stopping and slow speeds is where you'll notice a difference.

Hey Blackcloud41, where is she going to bury your azzzz???

As long as the passenger stays in the same position and doesn't panick on turns you will be fine. Also no shifting his weight around while you are stopping. Thats a killer for sure.
