    Nuther one

I started another project today. Like I don't have enough to do as it is. This one should go fast as the owner has cash and we won't be waiting to do stuff because he ran out of money. This old boy doesn't really know what I am going to do to his bike, he is just supplying the funds. This bike is a 96 Heritage that was put in a ditch after mucho Patron drinking. I thought I would kind of document the rebuild here. So here are the before pics.

Here we are taking stuff off for the plater. I think I have the left side floor boards straightened out, so we will save some money there. All the fork covers will have to go and I already scored some brand new take offs from e-bay for $30. I have all the skins (oem) and a few other surprises.

Holy Shit! Looks like my garage. We have similar taste when it comes to an organized mess. Can't tell you how many times I have done what you are doing. I think I have rebuilt about 30 or 40 crashed bikes, most of them RK or E-Glide. Some I even had to replace the frame with an original from the factory (with the same numbers).

BTW, I love that Ironhead you have in the background. Wanna git rid of it?

I hate those cover plates between the tranny and cam cover...why do people put them on?

I hate those stupid plates too, hell I don't like anything that doesn't have a function. Anyway, the Iron Head is another project that some old boy is low on funds at the moment so it is on the back burner. http://harleychatgroup.com/index.php...wtopic&t=35961

    Re: Nuther one

I managed to stop drinking Vodka & grapefruit juice long enough to make a little more progress on the Heritage this morning. I had to start at 04:00 to try and beat the heat. I pretty much have the bike stripped down of all the stuff going to the plater next week. I still have some little stuff to disassemble but I will probably do that at work. It took about 2 hours to straighten out the left side forward controls but I got er' done. Tonight (if I don't get too hammered) we'll be starting on the new sheet metal. I have to pretty much shut down operations from 2 to 5 as the heat is a real bitch right now.
