Aux plug / heated gear / battery tender

I just went and got the adapter to convert my battery tender plug to fit my Garmin heated gear. $5 from the dealer.
Wow! Cheap fix. One thing tho, they recommend changing the fuse to 15 amp because the battery tender is only 7.5 amp.
I bought a battery tender too while I was at it. Today might be my last ride for a couple months so why not throw the tender on it?
I can use it for Jackies scooter too.

I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly

Roger? Did you ever find out how to hook the Gerbing wiring to the AUX power switch?
Or did find the AUX outlet?

I wired my heating wiring direct to battery and ran the wire up through the back rest slot in my seat. Then I tie wrapped the wire to my chrome passenger grab rails on the 05 FLHT.
The plug I bought to go to the AUX outlet under the seat seemed larger than I wanted sticking up under the seat, so I blew that off. I might even break down this year and buy the incredibly overpriced, at 70 bucks, adjustable heat controller.
Weather will be almost 60 on Monday, time to ride baby!! No snow, ride that thing!!

I did it your way on my last bike Dan but my 08 has a battery tender plug already coming out the side so I just decided to use that. I'm going to use it to charge my gps too but I'll have to find another adapter for that.
You are in luck because I lost my adjustable heat controller and bought another only to find my old one later.
I'll make you a deal. Donate $30 to HCG and I'll send it to you. PM me your address.

I did the same thing as Roger. Bought the adapter for my battery pigtail. I got it on line. In the summer, I just tuck the pigtail back up under the seat out of sight.

I never heard that about the fuse. I haven't had a problem with it yet. But I'm only running the jacket liner. I guess if I ran the pants, + gloves + socks + passenger's gear I could see the amp draw getting high. Good point to think about.

Shit that was easy. I did move the plug over to the left side near where the seat meets the tank. That's where I installed my old one an worked good for me.
Besides, I had to take the seat off to change the fuse so I took care of it now. I can easily move it again if I decide to later. I made it so I could tuck it out of site when not in use.

WP I'm shocked you can ride without heated gloves. I could do without the rest for a long time, but my fingers get cold. Especially when I'm on the express way and I can't warm them up on the motor. My next item if I buy any more will be heated socks. The last time I rode 100s of miles in below freezing temps, my feet got a little cold even with wool socks.

Re: Aux plug / heated gear / battery tender

my face bothers me more than my hands. I have good gauntlet gloves.

But now that I've discovered the joy of a heated jacket liner I want gloves too. What the hell maybe the pants and socks. Just that i'm cheap and don't go out and buy it all in one year. The gear is pricey and I need a new leather jacket first since I seem to have outgrown my old one. So I'll something else up next year.

Trick with the hands is to tuck them down next to the engines jugs once in awhile and thaw them out.

Plus I been working a lot lately and no riding time.

Lately I'm into heated car seats, heated mattress pads, and heated biker gear. People that know me say I'm getting old.

It's a inline fuse Kfly. It was 7.5amp now is 15amp
I got heated seats in my car too WP
And I know the heated gloves on the motor trick but it doesn't work well at 90 mph.

Re: Aux plug / heated gear / battery tender

    Hey guys,
I have a 2010 Ultra classic limited. I put it up on the lift today to detail it. I removed the side covers to just check everything out. I noticed a cable that looks exactly like the one I use for my battery tender and also for my Slime air pump. Is this for the Battery Tender or is it for something else. I hate to plug into it without knowing for sure.

You might be able to find an adapter on this site, or from the site the powerlet link
