    Harley BlueTooth adapter??

    Hello all,

I see there is a BlueTooth adapter that "plugs" into the Harley radio.....
I have an '09 Ultra. I was wondering if anyone has this setup. I have the Zumo 550 and was wondering if this will let the directions be heard through the headphones. Also, will it let the phone link through the stereo also?
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated...

    Hi Jeff,

I don't have the Harley set up, but I have blue tooth hooked up to my Garmin, and it works fine when I wear a helmet! The directions come out loud and clear in your ear. Long rides you have worse issue with Blue tooth battery dieing before you get there.

    Re: Harley BlueTooth adapter??

Good question. I'm learning a lot about communication issues. The Garmin unit has the ability to plug into your H-D unit to use the H-D as an amp. It's my understanding that if you've selected an aux mode for your H-D unit, the Garmin WILL allow a priority sequence: directions, calls, then music. The coolest thing about the Garmin that I noticed is that directions are not only played over the music, but actually pause the song. You don't miss a beat. I don't use the BlueTooth feature only because I don't want to hear from anyone while i'm riding. Fuck 'em.

Also, H-D is introducing a brand-new BlueTooth technology. Our rep brought one around two weeks ago and it's pretty friggin' amazing. I'm not going to hi-jack your thread so I'll deal with it once it's official. It's not going to replace what you have, just to set your mind at ease.

Huh? You can't do that. Mention something late breaking and not fill us in. That's just wrong. So what's the scoop?

Mungo, it doesn't apply to you fairing-model guys. It's a new pocket transmitter with a receiver that actually mounts into the liner of your helmet. Super-small, and amazing reception for its size.

    There, ya happy?

Shut up! If he finds out we designed the system around his foil contraption he'll expect royalty checks!!
