Hard wiring to M/C

Oh the gps cord reduces it to 5V. I thought they were saying the cigarette plug only puts out 5 V which I couldn't understand.

Thanks all. Got what I needed at Radio Shack. If you read about a garage fire in MD where a Harley burns up, it was me.
