2003 Heritage front end shimmy/wobble help needed

    Hello,

I noticed that I have a front end wobble at 33-40 mph when I drive with "no hands". At slower and higher speeds it is not present. Any ideas on a cause such as a tire, balance, spoke issue or other? It is 2003 with 10k on the tires. Thanks!

All that what you mentioned plus the neck bearing may need a adjustment also

i won't ask why you are riding with no hands, but at 10k on the tires i'd bet the front is cupped slightly- especially if it is a dunlop....

My heritage does this when the rear tire is low or I have a Tbag mounted on the rear of the luggage rack. I have to turn my Tbag around so it is in front of the backrest.
I agree with the rest though, if you have 10K on the tires it's time for some new ones. I went with Michelins & absolutely love them. I felt the difference a couple of weekends ago up in the hill country. I could really feel them hugging the road.

There are a number of reasons for handling problems.......check tire pressure, tire wear, steering head adjustment too loose, bad steering head bearings, fluid level in forks, rim trueness and tire balance. Your bike is pretty new with eliminates a few of the above mentioned. My first guess would be tire pressure and secondly tire balance. It's a SERIOUS safety issue, get it check immediately!!!!!!!

I bet the head steering needs to be tighend. I lift mine and tighten it to 30 ft lbs. Don't forget to losen the crimp bolt.
