I would like to put a 6 speed into my 2005 roadking.
Harley sells a complete 2009 touring trany for $1500.
The one listed for my bike is $2500.
So I began to wonder (which is a dangerous thing) why not get a trany for a 2009 touring model harley and put it into my 2005 roadking
Anybody have any ideas?
Is this feasible?
Does anyone have a wrecked 09 touring bike?
How about a 6 speed trany that would fit the 05 king?
(I am in the Seattle area, would travel 500+mi for the right deal)
I bought the baker gear cluster, and just swapped the tranny gears out, leaving the tranny case mounted in my bike. The swap was finished in one day, leaving ample time to ride down to my local bar for a beer (just for road test purposes...of course). I was only about $1,000 into it, by the time I was done.....
If you are not an experienced mechanic, this might not be the best idea for you, though. Timing a tranny is something best left to professionals. I have an extra 6 speed here, that someone did not know how to time. I had to replace the main shaft and second gear
I let my mind wander.......It never came back
2009 will not fit 2005 at all. Different primary, different shafts, different everything
My Golf Swing is so bad, I look like a caveman killing his lunch.
