Hi,
am rebuilding a shovelhead. The rocker oil feed from crankcase to head has a restictor fitted in one end, which way round should this go to the case or to the head?
cheers,
Simon

Great! Thanks for your help, now I can fit it in the morning. Out of interest do you know what the restrictors function is and the consequences of fitting the line the wrong way round?
over oiling the top end can cause oil pooling and since the guides are usually iffy, smoking. the restrictor slows oil down. installing them backwards probably wouldn't hurt, except it would cause pressure to build up in the line rather than the case and if you have those braided lines maybe might cause seepage over time.

over oiling and pressure build up in the top will cause your push rod tunnels to puke oil all over...(let's not discuss how I know this...LOL)
I let my mind wander.......It never came back
That may explain the leaks then! Will find out tomorrow when I take the old girl to deepest darkest Wales tomorrow,
Simon.
