Well it's time to put some slip ons and a high flow air box on my 09 FLHRC. I've been following various posts on tuners, etc. for some time now(first time EFI owner-I'm a carb tuner). I'm leaning towards the Mastertune, mainly due to Coolmakers suggestions. Anybody else have any pros or cons for this software or any experiance with other products? My main objective at this point is A) sound, B) cooling /richening the bike up and C) slight performance gains. Also, who's done what to their 09's and what are the results.
Thanks, Dave

I'll let others chime in as to what's best but when it's time to buy, look me up. We stock the TTS Mastertunes. I'll see what I can do for you.

Thanks Kagan- My local PA dealer, Deans HD, does a Stage One flash for $150.00 + 1/2 hr labor. I'd rather have software. Also, Deans told me the flash is for either pipes or a high flow. Does that make sense? Is there another flash for both items???( I didn't ask the tech at the time)

I don't pay attention to flashes. We do maybe 6 a year. We sell dozens of Super Tuners, we stock 10 at a time, and maybe a quarter as many TTS's. Flashes are just so limited. Believe me, the few that we do install are on customer's bikes that we just gave up trying to explain the reasons not to. Whatever.

Some people like a flash in case their tuner dies. Then they can just disconnect and ride without harming their motor.
At least that's what I've heard. Could probably pass a smog test with just the flash too.
I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly
Go with TTS. It allows you to save and restore the factory map, allows you to tune your own bike w/out a dyno and get it 95% as close except WOT.
I've taken my 05, added O2's and now run closed-loop with an 07-09 map in it. Have to say bike has never run better since I did the motor build.
IMO, get the TTS I like it alot over other products. If you change something it is easy to change the map, nothing more to buy.
Btw Art, it is just a programming device, there is nothing left on the bike after you use it.

Not really sure what you are saying, but maybe my post doesn't apply to the new bikes.Originally Posted by blkfalc4
My last bike had a power commander and a free flow air filter.
If I just disconnected the power commander and rode with the stock flash, I might possibly have damaged the motor.
If I had the Stage I flash, I could disconnect the PC and ride.
My current bike (08 roadking) is running the stock flash and stock airfilter.
And it runs great with Reinhart slipons.

The TTS is a ggod system, except for one thing, you can only go to 14.2 afr, and that is not enough, the bike will still still run hot as hell..Originally Posted by blkfalc4

You can get lower than 14.2 CM, Mine is setup for as low as 12.5 in the power regions. But avg is 13.0 in the power area. Cruise I have set at 14.6 for closed-loop but I set the CLB voltage to get a realistic 14.0.
BTW CM, for an easy $85 you can get your 06 to run closed-loop and use the newer mt7files which has a ton of more tables and versatility. And also get to use the Vtune sw. I did my 05, not that complicated.

JUST TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT, when you do a chip burn, that is a software adjustment, "download" to your stock unit and does not ever come off, if you do a component change like a PC III, then that is a piggy back and a control program, that runs along with your stock unit , that is why if that fails you can unplug it and continue down the road. hope that helps with the confusion a little
