I have 02 Ultra Classic with 95 inch Screaming Eagle upgrade engine. The bike has died on me several times. No power anywhere and engine dead. Let it sit for about 5 minutes and all is normal.
Engine temp on the last failure yesterday was 220. Not really hot for outside temps of 100 +.
Had it in the shop Wed in Eureka CA because it was quiting while I was on a long trip. The shop cleaned the air filter . Ran diagnostics and didn't find anything.
A fellow rider on the trip said he had seen this on the Ultra before and the problem was the voltage regulator or voltage relay..
Any help appreciated.
Thanks Joe
Also have the main fuse in the fuse block changed they had a recall Ithink on the 02's because of a faulty circuit breaker or resetable main fuse
Ride it like you stole it
Yes the main circuit breakers had a recall that caused this

Is this a problem on '02 FLHRs also?
I have had the breaker replaced two times. One during the recall, and again after a simular problem two years ago.
The resetable main fuse sounds like a good place to check as well as rechecking the breaker again.
Any other ideas welcomed
Thanks
Joe
I know this is an older thread but thought I would post my experience with a similar problem. I have 80K on my 02 Ultra and 3 times I had similar problems. When it happen to me I got a history code and all 3 times I checked it with my Blue Streak BDM it came up systems relay. Replaced it and problem fixed. The system relay is only about $8 and is on the same side as the ECM. I keep a spare in my tour pack with my fuses.
Just a few more states and I will have them all on one motorcycle. If you see my bike on a trailer it is stolen call the police. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/mapsmall.jpg
