I'll be running these custom 1 3/4" pipes for my '04 rubbermount sporty. You get so many differing opinions but should I run some torque cones? Do they really do anything?
I'll be running 4" baffles to keep me legal as well.
Also, I've heard Screamin' Eagle gaskets are the best.

SE gaskets are thinner to flow more exhaust at the head. Torque cones plug up the exhaust at the head. IMO, it makes zero sense to use them together.
Personally, I think SE gaskets are more prone to leak. Stock gaskets make a better seal. As far as torque cones go, I think they plug the wrong end of the pipe. If those pipes were mine, I'd either run a shorty baffle or lollipop baffle, which is crudely tuneable.
Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think I'm just going to get regular gaskets. I tend to hear more bad things than good about torque cones too.
I have to run those 4" baffles at the least to prevent getting another $110.00 ticket from the man.

I have always used the SE seals - NEVER an issue - I think they are so much easier to deal with, my EVO was a bitch when installing the stock ones, as for the torque cones, I used them until I ported my heads, then it made no sense to continue to use them, not really sure it ever made sense lol

torque cones should be used with short, large diameter pipes. There is NO reason to use them with longer 1 3/4 pipes
