Surging, choking, stalls, engine light stays on

I was riding along today and I noticed a slight misfire, then my motor started surging and choking and wanted to stall if I let off the gas. I was in the middle of nowhere on my way to work and it was 35 degrees out.
So, I kept pumping it and kept it running and after a few minutes, it started running fine again and I made it to work.
But the check engine light had come on while it was running and now it stays on.
I also had a hell of a time getting it to start again. And the check engine light still stayed on and never goes off as long as the ignition is on.

    Any ideas?

I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly

sounds like a trip to your Indy, hard to tell from here, but you did just have some work done

Yea, it's possible he messed something up.
But, I did some searching around and found something about a hose inside the tank rubbing until it has holes in it.
Besides, my bike is under warranty. Since the dealer works closely with my Indy (he does all their dyno work), I'm thinking they will fix it under warranty even if it is Rosa's fault.
But, I could give him a call.
I'm most likely going to go get my car and trailer and tow it over to the dealer.

I'd prefer to get it running well enough to ride it though.

Yea, you are probably right. I went out and listened for a sound in the gas tank that I am supposed to be able to hear if there are holes worn in the hose.
I heard nothng unusual. It starts right up and seems to run fine now.
The engine light still stays on.
I wonder if I could have had some kind of fuel line freeze up. It was a cold prick out this morning.

Just gives me another reason not to alter my stock set up. I hope it is something minor.

Pull the code. (instructions are on the right). May lead you in the proper direction.
As for the fuel line leak, it usually runs fine on full tank and acts up at 1/2 or lower. Fill it up and prob goes away, means leaking fuel line.
Don't get in a tiffy if dealer says warranty void after the work that was done to it. Seen it before. but then could be something totally unrelated to your upgrades. Depends on dealer.

Get the set code first, reset the ecm and try that first is my first suggestion.

    Thanks Mike.
Yea, I don't get in a tiffy easy. I'm lucky, the dealer seems to cover everything for me.
I read those instructions and boy what a pain in the ass. Can't they just give us a trouble code button? lol
I'll let you know what I find out.

It's actually easy once you do it.
Just hold in the button and turn the ign sw on. Release after the speedo sweeps. You in.
Then press the button to get in each category, there are 4 if memory serves me right here.
If code is present the a alfha numerical number shows, write it down for reference.
To clear it, just hold the button in untill it says clr.

Look up code in table with the instructions.
