I'm considering the Vance & Hines Oval Slip Ons for my 05 RKC. I'm told by some I should definitely get the Fuelpak while others say I don't need it. Which is it? Is it necessary? I'm content with the power - just looking for a nicer sound and don't want to lay out any more $ than is necessary but want to make sure I do it right. Thanks in advance for your response(s)

If you're just looking for sound then you don't need the fuel pack or a high flow filter. Just slip on the mufflers and enjoy the sound. You'll also save hundreds of dollars.
BTW, I forgot to mention that the V&H slip-on's sound horrible on deceleration. I know sound is subjective but you may want to hear them on a bike before you purchase them. This is just my opinion and I know that others may love the sound......
Appreciate the input. Curious - what do you have on you Road Glide?
I have an RB Racing pipe. It's the 2 into 1 black hole spyder. RB Racing is known for performance. They hold the world speed record for the fastest Harley and are highly acclaimed. If you want great performance there's no other choice. Also, the pipes are not too loud but sound like a motorcycle should; deep and throaty.Originally Posted by Hawker

For what you looking for, just looking for nicer sound, you don't need anything else.Originally Posted by Hawker
With that said, if you want to take advantage of the performance potential of your bike, stage one intake and a fuel pack (power commander) is recommended but you can do this at a later date.
Enjoy your ride.

Its a dog eat dog world and I'm wearin milkbone underware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, I have the V&H Ovals. I also went with tru duels, and got rid of that heat enducing crossover. Added Stage 1 SE breather and I love the low rumbling I achieved. I also liked the back pressure sound when getting off the throttle. I will admit that sound has gotten better after burning an additional 15,000 miles on them. I have always kept the baffles in also!
Beauty is in the eye, or in this case ear, of the beholder.
It's not the years, it's the mileage!!
When seconds count, the cops are moments away!!
That decel sound can be adjusted with the performance tuner.
I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly
Performance tuner?
