I use a combination of Innotec Deblock oil (rust remover) and heat.

if you are looking to add power when you put it back together, consider the urethane or even the steel bearing replacements.....
When I put the 127 incher in my bike, I could "walk" it sideways in a corner, by twisting the wick and flexing the rubber.......that is a scary feeling in a hard corner, because letting out of the throttle will allow it to snap back the other way....
I now have a urethane front mount and a rear brace on my tranny, but my dad went with the urethane rear mounts and seems to like them
I let my mind wander.......It never came back

how good are your welding skills? I used the head steady brace for a buell, and made a rear stabilizer brace.....I could take pics, if you think you may want to build your own.....I used a bagger tranny though, so it has an oil pan under the tranny, but you can take the idea and fabricate your own brace, to fit your bike....I think I was $25 into a product that would have cost me $300 to buy

This may sound funny. but I use ebay as a guide for stuff like that. I do not buy. I look at what is available. research reviews of the products I find, then base my own makes off what works best
