is there a paint program or something that will allow you to take a direct side shot of your bike and put a different color on it? i want to paint my bike but would like to see a close example before hand. take a picture and swap the colors?
If there aint there outta be. Could be a software stored with all harley models over the last 20 years or so and you could download graphics or paint schemes from a graphc design software as well as having some ability of it's own to change collor or create simple designs.
It should also be structured so that you could change or add various after market products from various manufacturers (who would hopefully pay a small pittance for the extra sales it might generate). It could eventually be developed and updated so that it would have the latest parts from any participating manufacturer and when you were ready to purchase your after market mods the software would e-link to the manufacturers site and complete the ordering, shipping and payment process all from one program.
You could also build an application specifically for Harlemanufactured add ons and marketed to Harley. Thsi should appeal to Harley as it would also be usefull in helping a customer purchase new bikes with all the add ons they want and see what it would look like before it's even ordered. This would increase the market share for new mods fromn the dealer and aould certainly pay for itself in no time.
Or maybe something like this is already out there and I just aint gettin around like I should.
Holly shit! I just started thinking of about a dozen other things this software could do that would make it more marketable and usefull. I'm startin to get that "gotta invent something" type of insperation. I gotta think this thing through when I'm not all wacked out on pain killers. Of course by the tiime my head is clear none of this will seam to make any sense at all. I'll get back to yall.

Adobe Illustrator, Corell draw or any other vector graphics program will work. Has a small learning curve but works great.

OR... how about a software that would allow a novice PC user to creat amn interactive web page which would create a wish list of dream parts the user wants. It could be wrotten to act like a registry, simmilar to the way store have bridal registries. The wish lister could add the EXACT part as well as manufacturer and ordering info or assistance so that his friends or relatives could send him gifts of the EXACT part or add on the wisher wants (ya know, for like Christmas or birthdays & such). I remeber lots of occasions when I would have rather gotten even an inexpensive part for one of my scoots from my non riding brother, in laws or nephews then the bottles of Avon cologn and soap-on-a-rope type shit I did get.

O.K., but what about the "E-Build A Bike" type thing? Does anyone know of that type of thing or even wether it could be reasonably done by a properly motivated group of 14 year old MIT bound Korean kids or their 40 year old caucasion or African American counterparts?Originally Posted by Wide

Shit Wide. I'm entitles to a government education grant. I get dual funding because I am not only dissabled, but my dissability caused me to be seperated from the auto industry. I outta go take some classes and see what I can come up with. I'd like to vastly improve my computor abilities and get into some form of software writing. As it stands my current level of expertese is just sufficient enough to be really dagnerous, but it keeps me contributing to that Hmong kids education fund.

You know its really not that difficult and life experience is huge.
Quick example is I have a couple of those "brilliant" folks I do computer stuff with and I an novice on all levels compared to them but they always come for guidance on projects because as an old fart I know what passes the smell test. I say check into it, I really get addicted to it and its a great challenge with great gratifications. Not to mention pays well
