    Energy One Clutch

Decided to replace the clutch on my 93 FLHTP (65k on original clutch)

Contacted Energy One to ask a few questions and I am very impressed with their customer service. Spoke with their tech, Kent, and learned a lot about their products and recommendations.

Ordered their BTX-11 Kit, kevlar extra plate with new diaphragm spring. With shipping $109.21 (Thats $20 off the price by mentioning
reading about them on HCG and other forums)

    Re: Energy One Clutch

1000 miles on new Energy One clutch and I am very pleased with the changes.

First, the old clutch friction plates measured .698 .661 is minimum steel plates very polished, spring plate showed very slight wear in rivets. Overall condition good and I may have gotten several thousand miles of more use but I wanted a change. I did find the clutch spring seat was installed behind the diaphragm (should be between the diaphragm and the retaining ring. Indy shop replaced primary chain at about 30 k.

Energy One clutch performs as advertised and at this point in time I would recommend their product. Kit came with new diaphragm spring,
20% over new stock pull, and feels more positive on release and engagement.

yes great way to do the clutch for a stock to mild mod bike. Has great feel and lasts long also. I always do the extra disk and throw that other plate out. They have a great feel also

Forgot to mention that I also decided to use Amsoil Super Shift (yes ATF fluid) in the primary. Very smooth and much less"clunking" when shifting.

    Update.

Just under 4k on new clutch and I remain very impressed. Readjusting at 1k (mfg recommendation) it has preformed flawlessly. Very smooth and very quite shifting. I am also impressed with using ATF (Amsoil Super Shift)

If anyone is interested Energy One is offering a special through May 31, 2010. $20.00 off your order by entering the code SPORTSTER in the checkout.

    Update.

Just a little more than 20,000 miles on this clutch and it has performed perfectly. Still using Amsoil Super Shift in the primary.
