McGuire admited today that he spent nearly his entire carrer using steriods. REALLY, who the fuck did he think didn't already know that?
Marky boy supposedly fessed up today in a spin doctor like attempto pre-empt any possibility that the issue of his illegal doping would become a distraction come spring training time as he is now the batting coach for the St. Louis Cardinals.
This brings to my mind so many ethics related questions...
A) Why is he currently allowed to be anywhere near professional baseball after his admission.
B) Why (according to that asshole who calls himself "The Commisioner of Baseball" is he still eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame (and if he is what about Pete Rose)? I guess it's O.K. to apend a lifetime druggin the fuck out of yourself as long as you don't bet on the game.
& 3) I wonder wether his home run record will be ammended or notated to reflect his drug use & what does Sammy Sosa think about this and will Sammy eventually be OFFICIALLY recongized as the home run leader.
I have personally boycoted the HOF since the Pete Rose bullshit and now have a reason to continue to do so (though I have always wanted to go there). How can we be expected to unannomously get behind the MLB as "America's Sport"when both the comisioners office and the HOF are able to waver in the direction of the whims of whatever dickheads are running them at the time. They are both an affront to the very idea of democracy.
Granted I am probably the least ethical person most of you will ever meet. But then I aint trying to get average working Joes to spend half a weeks pay just to take their kids to the ballpark or trying to reap a billion dollar a year marketing windfall by trying to lure the American T.V. sports viewer back to a sport that has long since lost a lot of it's tadition and luster, a lot of which can be attributed to it's wavering and inconsistant policies of what flies and what dosen't.
O.K.. So maybe I am just looking for something to rag on because I'm still bitterly PISSED at the Tigers for blowing seven months as the leading team in the division on the final game of the year. ASSHOLES!!!!!

I think we'd be surprised to know all the athletes who were juiced.
Stuff was widespread. MLB shares the blame. they loved all the attention when home runs started flying out of parks. I remember when people thought the balls were juiced. LOL Wound tighter than normal or that bats were corked. MLB shoulda made steroids illegal.

I'm not here for a long time I'm here for a good time.
After being an avid professional sports fan much of my life, I came to realize that most modern day professional athletes are not the heros of my youth and aren't deserving of my support or interest.
Professional sport is almost an oxymoron. There is nothing sporting about it.
Professional sport is just a form of big business, and I'm not buying what they are selling.

Its a dog eat dog world and I'm wearin milkbone underware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
something funny on this topic.....professional billiards are going to start drug testing....I play tournament billiards, and I can not think of a single instance where a performance enhancing drug could help a player improve their game........
The rumor is that billiards has been proposed as a future olympic sport, and the olympic committee requires that all athletes be tested
I let my mind wander.......It never came back
Easy way to fix the whole mess. REQUIRE all athletes to be juiced. No steroids- no play. MANDITORY. Only way I can think to put parity back in sports.
OK, so that ain't it. But if we're going to keep records of achievement, who gets the * and who doesn't? We may never know who is real and who isn't. And you all know that drug tests can be beat... I mean so I've been told.![]()

Now let the fun begin. He lied under oath last year when he said he didn't use them. What else will he face? I he going to lose any titles from playing so well? We'll see.

Piece of shit. Period.
FS brings up a good point. Lying under oath to congress. Roger Clemens is still facing problems from that.
I kinda agree with emtee. Let the pros juice. Let them get medical supervision. Let them get the good high quality stuff. Instead of the veterinary steroids. Or the pro hormones like "The Clear".
Its safer than the chewing tobacco they use anyways if used knowledgeably. problem is most guys have no clue about biology and they get their info from some dude down at the gym.
Our country is full of hypocrisy. We sell pills on TV every night for just about every possible thing you could want. Sad ? take a pill. Want a boner? Take a pill. Pee too much? Take a pill. Losing your hair? take a pill. Got acid indigestion? take a pill.
Guess what? College athletes juice too.
