Bike is a 93 FLHTP (FLHS) with stock instrument panel. The fuel gauge has started acting strangely. With bike upright, and approx 3 gal in tank, the gauge reads empty. Leaning the bike to the left (on kickstand) the gauge reads properly. Suspect a sending unit (float assy) is at fault. Any advise before I look into this problem?
I never had a gas guage last more then a couple years at best

Purchased a new fuel sending unit (float assy) after checking the resistance on the old one. Works fine now and maybe I get another 16 years on this unit.
