    A little OT but...

    I'm building a budget chop. Here's the deal - I'm taking this:

and then putting almost everything on it onto a chopped and hardtailed this:

Now here's the cool part - it's all gonna be done for less than $500 and it's gonna be so bare bones you won't believe it - no oil bag (it's in the backbone and down tube), no Battery either. So once I figure out how to hide the electricals you won't see anything but engine, frame, tins, and wheels. I am psyched!
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

    good idea!

I got that frame for less than $120 bucks so there's no fear about fuckin it up - should be a blast to build.

    wow...brings back memories.
I remember the days of the oil-in-frame triumphs....I ran battery eliminators back then, and stripped everything down to bare bones

I chopped a yamaha 650 special once. I had a paugho frame for a triumph....me and my buddy got drunk, and the next morning that yamaha engine was in that frame. A local painter owed me, so I sent it to him for color. It was supposd to be red wine color....it came out that old dodge "pink"....I hated it. The painter loved it, and bought it from me.....I never did get to ride it
I let my mind wander.......It never came back

I loved my 650 Special. Had both a Harley and a Triumph look at the same time, with Jap reliability and economy. Sold it when I started having kids but didn't want to. Was my only transportation for 4 years. That experience made me a "biker" more than any tattoo or do-rag ever could.

I hide about 80% of the electrics in the headlight and run all the cables trough the frame, but you might have a problem with that. Keep us posted!

They don't have fly by wire do they?

I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly
