black oil tanks

need to know if the black oil tank was only put on the softail standard. buying a bike and the guy listed it as a heritage, but it's got a black oil tank and fatboy forks. Would appreciate some feed back. Thanks

It's true that the only bike with a Vivid Black oil tank was the Softail Standard (Night Train has a wrinkle finish), but the chrome stocker could've been switched out. In any event, why take chances? Get the VIN on the bike off the front fork and run it through this website:

The heritage does have the "fat boy" front end..........But OBG os correct.......factory it cam e with a chrome tank.....
