I'm installing a new round oil tank made by Millwaukee Twins and the only way I can make it fit is to remove the support that bolts to the transmission and the seat pan area. This support essentially is what the coil and the top of the oil tank bolts to and it's in the way.
I can still bolt the oil tank up with the top bracket without the support bar but I was wondering if anyone knows if this support has to be on the bike. It's pretty flemsy to really add any support from the looks of it but I don't want to hit a pothole here in pothole city and break the frame. That might be a bad thing. Does anyone know if I can leave this off the bike. Thanks.
