    I am putting the 3 3/8 inch open belt primary on mine because I have lost two primary chains in three years. The second one took out my inner primary as well. When you get a big stroker, with a lot of torque, you start stretching the links, right where the pins go through. it does not take much before the pins are working, and egg shaping the holes. This is where you want to catch the problem. if you don't, it will be costly

    BTW....when you remove the compensator and the primary cover, there is really not much difference in width either
