    Baker DD6

I am guessing this is the correct place to post this even thaw it does not say anything about transmissions in the thread title. LOL Need to add transmission.

Any one here running the Baker DD6? I have a 02 Ultra with 80K on it I bought new in 01 which could very well me my last new Harley. I do not have the money to buy a new Harley so I will be up grading my 02 and one of the things I got was a Baker DD6 transmission. I am looking to increase my gas millage being I do a lot of long distance riding. Any one here install a DD6 and how much did it increase your gas millage all so your other thoughts on this transmission.

    Re: Baker DD6

I had some on other forums try to talk me in to the higher first gear but when on the road I have my bike loaded down. I have been places where if my first gear was any higher I would have had to get off and push so I got the 324 which is real close to stock. I all so understand what makes the Baker DD6 cut down on the RPM is the bigger motor sprocket that comes with it and is not a real over drive. Very similar to when HD went to the 6 speed they put a smaller rear pulley on them to archive similar results. In my opinion doing it at the motor sprocket is better.
Just a few more states and I will have them all on one motorcycle. If you see my bike on a trailer it is stolen call the police. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/mapsmall.jpg

Go with the 6 speed and gear it up just a little. Will be a nice runner like that

Are you suggesting to gear it up even more then the 28 tooth motor sprocket it comes with? Stock is 25 and 3 teeth on the motor sprocket is a good increases.
    Thanks
