Hey Guys,
I've got a question concerning my clutch cable length. Bare with me while I lay out the details. It's an 8" over Barnett Braided Stainless Cable, not that it matters....however I've routed it through the Batwing Fairing the same way the stock unit routes. I've got what I thought was plenty of length, I had to take up a shit load of free play with the adjustment, but when I turn the bars to the right (hard) disengaging the clutch results in no go.....when I brought the bike in for unrelated service the tech said "Short Cable",I was thinking I've got binding going on somewhere, and I'm thinking what the hell would I do with another 2" of clutch cable as it is.....not a big deal except of course the dis assembly of installing another one...but I was wondering....could it be too short?
Thanks!
Is it zip tied inside the fairing? Does the cable assembly get tight when you turn the bars?
I was thinking the same thing ,the place where the cable appears to be tight is the rubber grommet entry through the fairing. I zip tied it in the stock location (along the down tubes front of frame) Thanks for the response
the "no go" deal does sound like a short cable.....how tall are your bars?
I let my mind wander.......It never came back
reroute it slightly and it should be fine.
FWIW

Hi Guys, thanks for the info....it's right at the very end ,not likely where you'd ever have your bars turned.....but I think it's bound up a bit inside the fairing. The Bars are Z Bars they're about 16" I would guess and the width is where they really are much different. It's almost always something!
