    tappet oil screen

Hi, my '77 FLH has been making some clacking noises that seem to come from the valve train. thought to clean the tappet oil screen, as I've never done that since I've owned the bike. When I pulled the plug I found there was no screen. Pulled the oil pressure gauge from the hole in front (right hole on the pic) and found nothing in there either. All that was in the rear (left in the pic) hole was a spring. I've ordered a screen kit from JP, but not sure which hole it goes into. Thanks,

the plug on the left is the pressure regulator spring and valve (the cylindrical valve is under the spring). put that back. the screen goes under the plug on the right.

thanks Junior, it wasn't clear from the manual where this screen is supposed to go. Once I install the screen is it OK to put the pressure gauge in that same port, or is there a better place for that?

I've been told shovels that have been converted to solid pushrods don't need the tappet oil screen. Anyone agree with this?
