I gave my last set of old shovelheads to my dad. ....Unless you are looking at a complete restoration STD aftermarket heads are so much better than the OEM heads, there is not really even a comparison. They come with three stud exhaust flanges instead of the single stud, you can order the valve size you want, and they come with dual plugs....There is also the option of using the ones that look like pans, but have shovel intake and exhaust. (these are my favorites, and what I run on my own panhead)....

By the time you completely rebuild a set of original heads, you are into the price range of a new set of replacement heads....I am not seeing a bonus in using the old heads for a daily rider
