can anyone tell me WHY I have No Power for the HILLS out WEST?
Just got back from Cody WY,lost power on long Hills, down to 55 mph ,wide open ,down shifed and still not much help, other Harleys passed me,brought gas the same place I did, been out West 4 times and I always loose power. It has Screaming Ealges PIPES WITH KIT,HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM,everything else is STOCK,I enjoy the bike but this No power is a pain,
I have over 71,000 miles.
Thanks,
Dianne
Have the oxygen sensor checked. The wires on those things can wiggle loose. I'd also replace the plugs if they haven't been lately.

Welcome Dianne!! I can't hang with the great OBG technically. There will be others that will chime in that will know what the issue is. I know I don't know since it is EFI.
So it primarily loses power going up hill? Just going up hill?
May not have been mapped right after the pipes were added?? I dunno.
Cheap stuff ain't good! Good stuff ain't cheap!
Hi Diane,
You say SE pipes w/kit . Can you give more info? I'm assuming SE slip on's with a SE breather kit? if so, was there a fuel management system added at the time of install or a "chip flash" done at the dealer? I would suspect a fuel issue but we need more info.
Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone you may still exist, but you have ceased to live.
I am guessing you need to down shift more firstly 07 have as my bike does a 6 speed trans and 6th is an over drive and really should only be used when on freeway type roads over 60 mph I believe you are lugging the engine too much so down shifting once only brings you back to what most have to start with so if you are in the hills don't be afraid to down shift 2 or 3 gears depending on how steep the hill is you don't seem to have an issue with normal riding my 08 softail will pull out to 100 mph in third and has Similar specs to your so don't be scared to give it a hand full you will be surprised at the power you have on tap
I don't know how many will agree or disagree with me
Hope this helps
What will it matter in 100 years
we really do need a little more info here....like breather kit and mapp. . Also does the bike have a tach installed? If so, what was the RPM range at which it fell on it's face?
I let my mind wander.......It never came back
I'm no mechanic but I'm curious if your clutch is slipping. Have you adjusted your clutch pack inside the derby cover? I'm told that if it's loose or not adjusted properly that your engine will rev but you won't get very far. Again, I'm just guessing and don't know too much.
Has no tach, when passing at the turn of the throttle,it hesitates and starts to loose power, it has a super tuner and slip on Sreaming Eagles pipes.New air filter,I'm taking it to another Dealer tomorrow and I hope they can FIX IT.Thank You ALL for your help,I made notes from you guys,so when I talk with service,I hope it'll help them, find the problem.
I want to get 100,000 miles on this bike by next year, then I can get another one.I still have my 99 Dyna with over 100,000 and it has NO Problems,it not as comfortable as the Heritage, but it's still a GOOD RIDE.
Thanks again,
Dianne
I mentioned the oxygen sensor because it has more work to do when you change altitudes and if it's not working right that's where you'll notice it -- in the hills. But if that checks out OK it looks like the problem is with the fuel map, as the guys mentioned above. This is my problem with those aftermarket EFI tuners -- if the super tuner isn't tuned by a super tuner, your tuning won't be super.
