Mexico debates drug legalization as violence continues

Weary of drug war, Mexico debates legalization

Among those throwing their weight behind legalization was former President Vicente Fox , a member of Calderon's own conservative National Action Party .

"We should consider legalizing the production, distribution and sale of drugs," Fox wrote on his blog during the series of forums. "Legalizing in this sense does not mean that drugs are good or don't hurt those who consume. Rather, we have to see it as a strategy to strike and break the economic structure that allows the mafias to generate huge profits in their business."

I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly

I wouldn't think it would have much effect since their enforcement is corrupted to the point where legal or illegal is all the same. Still gotta pay the toll.

Maybe if they legalize it all the tweakers will go to Mexico.

Approximatly 75 persent of law inforcement deals with drugs. And 75 persent of people in jail are there for drug related crime. Give it up. It's time to move on. People that can't control themselves will die. Problem solved.

If people want to commit suicide by drugs I guess it should be legal. One has to wonder if they legalize it would it increase usage? Or would the same number of people use whether it's legal or not?

Might help some employees get more done.

Legal or illegal doesn't matter to me. I'm a big boy and can make my own decisions.
Going underground to get dope is fun. But kind of dangerous.

Mexico realizes they can't fight our stupid war on drugs.
Is 100s of thousands of innocent people dead better than letting a bunch of dope addicts kill themselves? Making drugs illegal fuels crime.

I've been getting high for 37 years and I'm still alive (sadly). Not even addicted. If my boy says his next shipment won't arrive til next week I say, "That's cool. Hitcha up later." And I've managed to hold down a job, pay off a mortgage, buy a Harley outright, and raise three greedy children. Maybe I'm just the special exception. LOL
