Question 2004 RK Fule Pump Fix. Worried

Hi boys I just recently finished up installing a new supply check vale & a new filter on my 2004 RK the hose from the fuel pump to the regular & it was (((hell))) sliding them over the tube barrels. I tried boiling them using 3&1 oil no good. I just had to push & twist & shove & hold my mouth the right way......... But I had removed the fuel pump off the plastic bracket before I started installing the hoses to make sure I didn't brake the pump bracket. Well the two little tie wraps that hold on the pump I had to cut them. I went to my Harley Dealer & bought the two tie straps & when I got back to the house they were to dam short. I was a bit upset from all that driving for the wrong part. I had my own pack of tie straps that look identical to what they sold me but mine were longer than there straps, the only thing difference on them was they had a small metal pin in the locking part of the tie wrap. I went ahead and used my own but I was a bit worried afterwards, are the Harley ties a different type of plastics that what I used since they are submerged in gas. The factory used two ties but I used three of my own do think I am all right on my fix ?

Worst they can do is drop off, I assume the metal is to help it stay locked. I never did that repair

You can always use stainless steal wire to wrap them, I use that for everything.

Take one of your extra ties and let it soak in a little jar of gasoline for a few weeks and you should have a good idea of what to expect
