Right now I have a 1st series motorola droid rooted with a different OS. I use that for cell and as a wifi hotspot and a veiwsonic 7.7 tablet connected wirelessly to it for bigger screen shit. The combo works really well.
Personally I dont see needing bigger processor I actually underclock the cpu in the phine to get better life. Took a while to get right but I am very happy and can fit them in a pocket

I use the hell out of my Android Incredible. Mostly just email but to be able to edit documents would be very friendly for me. But like you say, a small laptop with the droid connected would be even better. I need to make that happen.
