73 Ironhead Question about Generator - Regulator - Battery

Not my first Harley but first Ironhead and completely new to the charging system.

I actually picked the bike up on a trade. I was building metric bobbers and someone offered me this on trade for a Honda Shadow. I feel like I robbed the guy but he said that the bike is too hard to ride and didn't want the kick anymore.

Just got the bike from previous owner with no regulator or battery. Just went and picked one up yesterday. I've read a few things saying that I have to "polarize" the system". I don't even know what wires go where and I don't want to fry anything by not hooking it up right or taking the right steps to "polarize" if needed.

Any help you guys can give is greatly appreciated. I'd like to try to hook everything up today and start it up!

    Thanks

Here is a pick of the bike:

Use a jump wire and momentarily touch the "bat" terminal and "gen" terminal on the regulator and presto you should have correct polarity.
