Hoping someone can help with my intermittent problem.
I have an 09 Road Glide with HD installed Stage 1 kit(breather, pipes , and HD map) all done at time of purchase 26 months ago. I have had no problems with this bike until Friday the 13th( a bad omen). Ran fine on Weds. went out Friday and started it up and all it would do is idle. Twist the throttle and nothing happens. Came home Friday night and was going to check connections but tried starting it first and it ran fine. Started it Sunday and it ran fine. This morning it was running fine for about 20 miles and then when I hit 4th gear after taking off from a stop light it bogged down and nothing at the throttle again. I pulled over turned it off for about 10 seconds and restarted it. It was running fine again. It ran fine for the next 30 miles when I got to work.
Has anyone had this same probem? Any ideas on what it might be, connections, brain box, drive by wire throttle.....?????
Any help would be appreciated.

I had a sensor go bad on my 08 Roadking that did something like that.
If that's what it is, you probably need to take it in. I took my to an indy that happened to have another bike like mine so he could switch out the sensors until he found the right one. The dealer would probably be a more sure thing.
Hopefully you will get some replys from the machanics around here. I'm just a rider and don't do much work on my bike.
I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly
Buddy had the same problem on his 09 FLHX........fuel module was junk!! it will get worse until the bike has nothing........they "blamed" the power commander to get out of warranting it but they had to prove that was the case AND COULDNT... so they replaced under warranty.....if there isnt anything loose I bet thats the issue........$450 part.......
Its a dog eat dog world and I'm wearin milkbone underware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I disconnected the engine module and a couple of other connections under the seat. Blew them out and put them back together. I haven't had another incident since then and have gone about 500 miles. Hopefully it was just a dirty connection.
Thanks for the input guys.

Ok had a few more instances of this happening but it would always reset itself. Came out of work Weds. night and it would start but only idle. I had it towed to the dealer and they looked at it and figured it out. They said the connection to the induction module was "fretting". Basically this means the wire connections were shorting to themselves and causing the computer to go into safe mode. Which means it will only idle the engine. They said this only happens to bikes with drive by wire throttles which is '08 and up. Also said it has only happened to a handful. They ended up re-wiring the connections which was $10 worth of material but $200 worth of labor.
Hope this helps someone else.

I had a $15,000 outboard motor go in safe mode every so often. At least I could get home in slow mode. It took 4 years to figure out it was a hole in my oil line.
The motor was out of warranty but I raised hell and got a free 2 year extended warranty.
