Age old cam upgrade question - Yes again - Sorry

I know this general question has been asked probably a thousand times but I searched older posts and could not find the answers I was looking for.
Here's the deal - I am changing my cam chain tensioners over to gear drive, while I'm in there I might as well replace my stock cams for something with a little more punch. I mostly ride solo on my 02 FLHT "Tupperware Boat". I was originally thinking of the S&S 510 because I am looking more for uppper end HP than lower end TQ. After some research it sounds like I would be better off with an Andrews 26 (490 lift). I will be porting the heads in about a year but not right off. Mostly everything is stock except for the following:
    Hypercharger A/C
    SuperTrapp 2-1 exhaust
    S&S super E.
    Barrnett Scorpion clutch
Lookin for options from the experts on cam size.
Also I suspect with the new cams I will have to adjust the timing which means an ignition module. I'll take suggestions on that as well.
    Thanks in advance!!!!
    Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead...

They're better than the one between my shoulders.

Post I am no expert but I did stay at a......

Choosing a cam is sort of like choosing a wife or girlfriend isn't it? So many options ,well OK as far as cams go anyway. I installed the gear drive and Andrews 37 cams in my '06 FLHTCUI. The bike comes alive at around 2500 all the way up to 5000RPMs. In addition to the added performance,my bike no longer coughs, sputters, pukes, sneezes or exhaust pops EVER....I can wind it up to red line and let her wind all the way back down. You didn't say if your bike is EFI or CARB but I did have to compensate with a richer fuel map on the power commander. By far one of the best mods I've put into the power train. Oh and I did have to install the heavy duty clutch spring after this because with 2 up riding I noticed some mild clutch slip. Good luck.

On my 2002 road king with fuel injection , I use a hd 203 cam with white brothers series E muffler " about the same as your super traps" KN air filter, " I think the hypo air set up, loses power" as for tuners I use HD again here "but not biker friendly" right now zippers has about the best unit out, and you should be OK , but check the run out on the crank before installing the cam, and you might want to look the oil pump over for wear this is what has worked well for me very fast out of the hole and outstanding power through all the gears
Bucket list are for Sissie, men do it while they can enjoy it
